Unity on the Mountain Online Prayer Ministry News from Unity Village

About Unity

“I am attracted to the Unity Movement on many levels and have found wholeness of both body and mind in their congregations.

Their quest for knowledge is impressive. Their joy in life aids wholeness. Their concentration on what Matthew Fox called "original blessing" rather than on original sin is a welcome relief.

I think their emphasis on the enhancement of life rather than the denigration of life must be found in the Christianity of the future. I call Unity my second spiritual home.

My sense is that Unity often reaches those who have been hurt by or wounded in traditional Christian churches, so I am grateful for the ministry they do for all of us.

Unity as a religion does not claim to have discovered anything new. We have simply gathered together and unified all that is good in many religions. We do not claim that we have discovered any new truths, nor that we had any special revelation of Truth. There is Truth in every religion. It is my privilege to take truth from any source, and make it fundamental as a rule of action in my life. This is what Unity students do. We have borrowed the best from all religions; that is why we are called Unity.

The name Unity was revealed to us by Spirit. . . we took the unifying idea that all religions are essentially good, that all have some truth and began to see that they all came from one source.

Unity: A Path for Spiritual Living

God is Spirit, the loving source, divine energy, infinite wisdom, that is continually creating, expressing and sustaining all creation.

Jesus expressed his divine nature within him , the spirit of God and showed humanity the way to express it as well. The Christ is that divine spirit in us all.

Our Nature is divine, for we are each individualized expressions of God, eternal in spirit and one with all that is Our purpose in life is to realize that divinity and to express it in ever area of life, as Jesus did.

The Bible is a complex collection of writings compiled over many centuries and we honour it as reflective of the understanding and inspiration of the writers. Today, we study the Bible as historical, allegorical and as a metaphysical representation of humanities evolutionary journey toward spiritual awakening.

Prayer and Meditation increase our awareness of God and therefore the quality of our lives. Affirmative prayers are statements of truth that help us to align with our divine nature. Through silent meditation we experience the presence of God.

Youth and Family Ministry supports the many expressions of family. We create a welcoming environment that fosters a positive self image, personal responsibility and unconditional love and acceptance.
